Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Gwalior

The center was called as "Ramakrishna Ashram Gwalior", initiated in a humble way in 1959 as a private center, by Late Swami Swarupananda Ji Maharaj, a disciple of Swami Yatishwarananda, the former Vice President of Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur Math. It was indeed a golden moment when the foundation stone of Ramakrishna Ashram, Gwalior was led on December 11, 1964, by Late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan - the second President of India. Since then, there was no looking back for this unique organization in Gwalior - Chambal Region. To date, the Ramakrishna Ashram, Gwalior has engaged themselves in various activities that benefit the nation. It has been actively catering to the all sections with essential services that they lack immensely. Serving in the fields of Education, Health-Ayurveda, Social Welfare, Animal Husbandry. These services are inspired by the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Dev, Maa Sharada Devi and Cyclonic Monk Swami Vivekananda  that "Service to Man Is Truly Worship of God".

On November 01, 2016 Ramakrishna Ashrama, Gwalior was officially handed over to the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Po – Howrah, West Bengal. Hereafter Ramakrishna Ashrama, Gwalior is now called Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, which is an official branch center of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah, W.B.
