Sharada Bal Gram, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama started in
1990. It covers an area of around 50 acres, which is located on Sachin Tendulkar Marg,
Gwalior. It provides free boarding, lodging, education, etc., facilities to 150 SC, ST, OBC
and other Backward class students (boys and girls), besides, the school Ramakrishna
Vidya Mandir (MPBSE) is affiliated to the Madhya Pradesh Board of Education. The
students of nearby locality also avail the facilities as day scholars along with residents
of Sharada Balgram students. In order to extend medical facilities to the locality rural
and urban a Alternate Medicine Center named Swami Vivekananda : Ayush Dispensary
started it services in the field of Ayurveda and Panchakarma.

"Expansion is life" The quote by Swami Vivekananda is the central idea of present movement Inspired by this "Mool Mantra, Ashrama decided to come out of its limited boundaries. The life partner of Swami Shri Ramakrishna, Maa Sharada remained the central source of inspiration for this expansion,Sister Nivedita expresses Maa Sharada as a true Love for humanism. Therefore owing to the desire of all well wishers and by the grace of God it was decided to Lay the foundation of Sharada Balgram, in which due care could be taken of orphan and for boys and girls who are discarded by society. This is to ensure that those could lead their life of self respect in future. This is just a mild contribution of Ramakrishna Ashrama for deprived children in the form of developed Sharada Balgram. Sharada Balgram is situated in a serene hilly location approximately 3.5 Km away on Sachin Tendulkar Marg. The Land is surrounded by Mahalgoan, Dongarpur, Sirol and MehraGoan, M.P. Govt Cordially allotted a land piece of 50 acres in 1990 for this purpose. Situated in the South East Thearea is far away from pollutions effect. The slopes of hills in north and south are the special features of this Land. On 26th March 1992 the then Chief Minister Mr. SundarlalPatwa laid the foundation stone, Mr. Narayan Krishna Shejwalkar Ex M.P. chaired the program in the presence of Many Respected/ Renownedpersons attended the program. Sharada Balgram with its limited resources of 3 crores initiated its drive a march, for kids of future India from down trodden, and society discarded to come up with colors. These kids are provided with all necessary amenities in the fields of Education, Boarding, Games, Handicrafts, Scripture and efficient agricultural activities etc by Sharada Balgram to make them achieve their future prospects and in building up India.
