Sharada Naad Mandir
Sharada Naad Mandir (Music College) caters to around 300 students daily in traditional Indian music and dance.
Sarada Nad Mandir Music College was established on September 10, 1984, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, in the presence of the Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram Gwalior, Swami Swarupanand Ji Maharaj, and the Gwalior Gharana's famous music teacher and renowned singer, the late Shri Balasaheb Poonchwale, for the promotion of music and art culture.
Music education was started by eight students and three teachers in one room of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram in Gwalior. According to the courses at Khairagarh University, Chhattisgarh, the students had given the examinations, at that time. There was no examination centre in our college. The teachers here used to take examinations of students at the Government Madhav Music College. Although this task had to face many inconveniences.
Gradually, the number of students started growing, and the Sharada Nad Music College started moving forward as time passed. Khairagarh University is permitted to provide an examination centre in our mission. After that, Raja Maan Singh University was established in Gwalior, and Sharada Nad Mandir Music College got its affiliation in 2012. Private students also come here to take admission. At present, the number of students who took admissions is around 300, and the total number of teachers (music teacher, tabla instructor, harmonium instructor, sitar instructor, dance teacher, violin instructor, and synthesizer instructor) is 12.
Here we teach Classical Music, Light Music (Geetanjali), Kathak Dance, Tabla Vadan, and Violin Vadan, and every year examinations are conducted as per the prescribed syllabus of Raja Maan Singh Tomar University. In addition, classes in guitar, casio, and harmonium are also conducted in this music college.
On the occasion of the Annual Festival Cultural, many events are presented by the students. Apart from this, special programs are rendered by students and teachers on the occasion of Basant Panchami, Sri Sri Ramakrishna Dev Jayanti, Ma Sharada Jayanti, Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, and Guru Purnima. The program of Dhrupad singing was held at the Tansen Festival, and other programs are also presented from time to time. Students participate in singing, dancing, and many instrumental competitions around the year.
On September 18, 2018, the annual function of Sharada Naad Mandir Music College was organized on the occasion of its 34th anniversary.
